Kingsport (Tenn.) Press Strike collection, 1961-1967.

The collection consists of records from 1961-1967 pertaining to the 1963 strike against Kingsport Press. Includes correspondence, legal documents, minutes, newsclippings, printed material, and photographs. Materials document the activities of the bookbinders, electrotypers, machinists, printing pressmen and assistants, and typographical unions during the strike. Principal correspondents include strike director Earl Derrick, attorney John S. McLellan, and C.E. Fritschle, Vice President for Industrial Relations for Kingsport Press. The legal documents (1965-1967) consist of testimony, memoranda, and decisions pertaining to the strike. The collection also contains correspondence, newsletters, fliers, rosters, financial reports, and membership cards pertaining to the Allied Kingsport Press Unions (1963-1964) and financial material from the AFL-CIO Tennessee State Labor Council (1961-1963).
